Richard Farmer (Chair)
Controller
Humphrey-Miles Funeral Home

Richard Farmer is the Controller and Vice President of Finance for Humphrey Miles Funeral Home. Born in Canada, Richard graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor in Mathematics in 1977, received a CA designation in 1978 and has worked in various industries for over 28 years as either a Controller or Vice President of Finance. Richard also runs his own public accounting practice. Richard has served on the Board of Directors for Touchstone Youth Centre for five years.

 

Christine McLean (Past Chair)
Manager, Website & Marketing Communications Strategy Marketing Development
Enbridge Gas Distribution 

 

Christine is the Manager of Website & Marketing Communications Strategy for Enbridge Gas Distribution. Christine has served on the Board of Directors for nine years. Over those years she has served in the capacity of Vice Chair and Chair of the Board of Directors. Christine has been instrumental in the development and production of all Touchstone’s communication materials including brochures, newsletters business cards and letterheads.

 

Carolyn Mowat

Sales Representative
Re/Max Hallmark Realty Ltd.

Carolyn Mowat has been a Board Member at Touchstone Youth Centre for six years; Carolyn is involved in some fundraising as well as events inside and outside Touchstone. Having formerly worked in the Telecommunications area, Carolyn is now a Real Estate Salesperson for RE/ MAX Hallmark and has lived in the East York area for eight years. She has always been involved as a volunteer in various capacities within the community. Carolyn’s work at Touchstone has made a positive impact on the lives of the young people that need our services and believes that Touchstone is a good step in the right direction for many of them.  

 
Alan Sless
Partner and Group leader of Borden Ladner Gervais 

Alan Sless is a partner in the national law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, practicing in the commercial real estate department.  He received his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1981 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1983.  Alan is a member of the Board of Governors of Beth Tzedec Synagogue in TorontoAlan has been on the Touchstone Board of Directors for three years.

 

 
Carolyn Young

For the last year Carolyn has served on Touchstone Board of Directors. She holds an Honors Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Acadia University.  A Certified Management Accountant, Carolyn has worked as an accountant for the last seven years in a variety of industries and has participated in numerous leadership seminars focusing on women in business.  

 

Jen Aitchison
Associate
JonesBrown Insurance Brokers & Consultant

Jen Aitchison, an appreciative prior resident of Touchstone Youth Centre, now has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry.  She is RIBO licensed and currently works for Jones Brown Inc. as an Account Associate. Her strong communication and sales skills will undoubtedly be put to good use at Touchstone Youth Center, as she joins the Board of Directors.  Jen’s recent interests focus on risk management and insurance solutions for solar, wind and other renewable energy industries worldwide.

 

Kumar Sukumar
Head of Risk Reporting –Financial Shred Services
Bank of Montreal

Kumar Sukumar is a Certified Management Accountant for several years and is currently the Head of Risk Reporting –Financial Shred Services at the Bank of Montreal.  Kumar has experience working in a variety of leading financial industries, which include but not limited to CIBC and HSBC.  Kumar has several years of financial experience, including Risk Management and Financial Auditing.

   

Luisa Steinsky
Teacher

Luisa has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph, a Masters in Science from York University and a Bachelor in Education from the University of Toronto.  Luisa has also earned a Certificate in Business from the University of Toronto. She has been teaching for over 20 years and is currently teaching at Adelaide McLaughlin P.S. in Oshawa.   She plays the French horn and belongs to the Pickering Concert Band

 

Ram Amarnath

Vice President

Morgan Stanley

 

Ram is a Vice President in the Investment Banking division of Morgan Stanley Canada based in Toronto.  He is an active member of the community and serves as a volunteer with the Future Possibilities for Kids program. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Ram worked for leading global firms in London, New York and Mumbai. Ram received an Honors Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
