Touchstone Youth Centre provides emergency and long term shelter, crisis intervention and support services such as housing, employment, drop-in support to youth between the ages of 16 - 24 at our location in Toronto. In 2005 we provided support and shelter to over 3,000 homeless youth and answered over 5,000 distress calls. There are no fees to the users for any of these services.
These youth can stay for a maximum of 24 months at our Centre. During this time we provide all the resources needed to get them back into mainstream society, in addition to community resources and networks that will assist them when they are at the Centre. Again, there is no fee for service. The most difficult task is when we have to tell a young victim "there is no space at the Centre".

While the costs of maintaining these services have continued to increase oves the years, government funding has stayed the same, and have in some areas been cut back. We are left with the need to fundraise close to 30% of our costs.
Without your help many of these children would continue to spend their lives on the street, suffering the scorn of society, living with abuse and never knowing there was an alternative. Your support does make a difference.
